The Politics of Genocide
Oppression is the act, or fact, of imposing harsh government; or keeping people down through implementation of cruel or harsh policies: social, judicial or legislative. Tyranny is defined as cruel or unjust [mis] use of power.
When any segment of a population is systematically locked-out of the process of accessing the opportunities made readily available to other segments of the same population: by virtue of such blatant discrimination there exists a state of extreme, vile injustice.
Whenever any segment of a population is consciously, deliberately, and institutionally subjugated to substandard economical, educational, health, job and residential opportunities: you have a state of oppression by virtue of the exclusionary policies, enforced through legislation, that purposefully discriminates against selected groups within that general population.
Whenever any one group of a population is victimized by an ongoing barrage of abuses, injustices and wrongs wherein they are brutalized, denied and deprived by a system of institutionalized “double standards”; such as those conditions imposed upon the majority of people of Afrikan descent in America, -- conditions earmarked by 'police brutality' and continuous incidents of 'justifiable homicide', substandard education, poor housing, inadequate health care, widespread unemployment and/or underemployment, chronic judicial misconduct, along with wholesale arrest, detention and imprisonment --; you have an oppressive, tyrannical state of genocide being enacted.
Under the “Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide”, adopted on December 9, 1948: the United Nations defined genocide to include; 1) killing members of a minority group, 2) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of a minority group, 3) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its' physical destruction in whole or in part, 4) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group, or 5) forcibly transferring children of a minority group to another group.
In view of the ever-worsening conditions forced upon them; wherein social welfare is being systemically eliminated; public health care services for the disadvantaged and poor are approaching virtual non-existence; unemployment and/or underemployment are on an ever increasing rise; education and housing are grossly substandard; -- not to mention the widespread displacement of Afrikan descended people occurring as a direct result of the process of gentrification that has become a trend in every major metropolitan area of the U.S.A. --; hundreds are murdered, by the police, under the guise of 'justifiable homicide' and an extremely disproportionate number are imprisoned: the population of Afrikan descended people residing in North America are, unquestionably, victimized by “conditions of life calculated to bring about its' destruction in whole or in part”.
Today, in 2007, there are more black and latino people imprisoned, more unemployed and/or underemployed living below the 'poverty level', more homeless, more addicted to drugs and our children are being mis-educated and 'dumbed-down' in facilities that are overcrowded, understaffed, un-kept, ill-equipped and, often times, in worse condition than they were 50 years ago. All of the conditions of blight plaguing the black and brown communities across urban America are the end result of economic, political and social policies that are conceptualized, designed, planned and implemented by panels of government bureaucrats and social scientists that include economists, psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists and 'experts' in other fields related to 'social engineering' and 'behavior modification/control'. After conducting research/study projects, reports are prepared containing recommendations. Those reports and recommendations are given to lobbyists. The lobbyists, then, pass them on to various personnel occupying key positions in government and private foundations where they are packaged into legislative bills that eventually are passed into law. Hence, the masses of disadvantaged, underprivileged youth living in the barrios and inner-city denizens of urban America are very cunningly criminalized by being manipulated into adopting unconventional methods of survival: methods that, for the most part, are centered around the 'underground economy' of the 'drug trade'. Thus, the current plight of the black and brown community in America is the direct consequence of the U.S. government subjecting them to ...”conditions of life calculated to bring about its' physical destruction in whole or in part.”
We will never eradicate ourselves, and the world, of the profane injustices under which the overwhelming majority of the earth's population suffer, until we begin to think and act in ways that transcend the dialectics that are the extension of the psychology of those currently in control of 'global' geopolitical affairs; i.e. the 'oppressor class'. We must reverse the trend of adopting and subscribing to the ideological, intellectual, organizational and philosophical doctrines, dynamics and norms of our oppressor if we are to ever achieve liberation! We must develop our own dialectics based upon ideals, principles, norms, standards and values that we – ourselves -- define, and use them as the basis of the purpose, objectives, methods and goals of our movement.
The U.S. government establishment, and the predominate demographic group of which it is comprised, would have you, myself and the American public believe that they are too civilized and refined to commit genocide. The truth of the matter, however, is quite the contrary. They have crafted the process of genocide to the point that they have developed it into what can be referred to as 'the art and science of genocide'. Through subliminal seduction, trickery and appealing to the sensual cravings of the masses, they have programmed the common people to engage in 'self-imposed' behavior patterns that are genocidal in context: lifestyle habits that are deadly, self-destructive and subtly suicidal. All of this is done as economic, governmental and social policies are imposed upon the people that only serve to exasperate their overall living conditions. Let there be no mistake. The genocide being committed against people of Afrikan descent is just as sinister, ominous and deadly as the genocide committed against our fore-parents during the 'trans-atlantic slave trade', the genocide waged against the people indigenous to this land by the european settlers and the genocides of the 20th and 21st centuries in Germany, Rwanda, Bosnia, Kosova and, currently, in Dafur Sudan!
The numerous community activists, various community organizations and hollywood celebrities rallying support for the victims of the genocide in Dafur Sudan should all be applauded and commended for their selfless, humanitarian efforts. However, let them, and us, not forget the plight of the million + people of Afrikan descent confined within the 'American Prison Industrial Complex' as a consequence of being compelled to commit the acts that resulted in their imprisonment due to the disparities and injustices prevalent throughout the economic, political and class structure of American society. Let us also not forget the numerous men and women whom have, over the years, been murdered or remain 'political prisoners' for the crime of speaking out and resisting the iniquities committed against their people in the same manner done by the colonizing settlers of this land when they opposed the British for reasons far less horrific than the abuse, brutality and injustice inflicted on peoples of color to this very day. Until the day that every child is provided a genuine 'quality education' and every man, woman and child can enjoy the benefits of the earth's resources through the advancements in science and technology on par with every other person alive; where no one is given preference due to class, economic, occupational or racial distinctions. The ideal of this being “the land of... liberty and justice for all” will be no more than just that: an elusive ideal.
God does not like ugly! God does not the ugly that is exhibited in the perpetration of the evil, injustice, oppression and tyranny that the oppressor imposes on us. Likewise, God does not like the ugliness we, the victims, are guilty of by virtue of our passive tolerance and conformity, or acquiescence, to American despotism and fascism. We have not been created to live under the yoke of tyranny! We have The Force of The Creator supporting us and have been given His Authority to stand-up as the men and women we have been created, and exact Justice! The only reason we are victimized by insult, injury and injustice is because we allow the situation to continue. The minute we, as a nation of people, take a collective stand to put an end to such wrongs, only one of two things can happen. By the Leave of The Creator, we achieve victory; or The One Who has given us life causes us to loose it in pursuit of establishing The Rule of Law of God's Will on earth. Either way, we cannot and will not loose!
